Different Perspectives
Visiting images and manipulating them has become so easy for anyone. I enjoy bringing some things together that allow for a third perspective to emerge. In a recent Vivid forum one speaker mentioned the demand for production of images on creators because of the ease of making new images they risk not contemplating their results and just continuing to re-create what gets the most likes on sites like Instagram.

The memory of Roy Rene lives on in the Mo Awards, presented annually for excellence in live performance. The statuette presented to the recipients is in the form of Rene in his Mo McCackie persona.

Garry McDonald revived 'Mo' in Sydney in a live theatre production in the 1980s that I was lucky enough to see at the Belvoir Street Theater. Garry did the character very well and it was one of my best remembered moments of live theater.
Martin Sharp also did the iconic poster thanks to a commission from Richard Wherrett for the productions as well that is now in the National Potrait Gallery:

1927 The Sailors — Stiffy & Mo

Comedians Nat Phillips (1883-1932) ‘Stiffy the Rabbit-o’ and Roy Rene (1891-1954) ‘Mo’ formed a comedy duo in 1916 which was highly successful on the vaudeville circuit until 1925. They were best known for their risqué or ‘blue’ comedy routines. They broke up in 1925, but reformed in 1927 for 18 months. In this period they recorded four record sides for Parlophone in June 1927, two of which were released as The Sailors, a comedy routine that carried across both sides of the disc. Rene went on to greater success on the stage, screen and radio with his character Mo McCackie.

We did not make it to the outer reef but we still managed to have some wonderful snorkeling adventures.

The Great Barrier Reef is a site of remarkable variety and beauty on the north-east coast of Australia. It the world's most extensive stretch of coral reef and is probably the richest area in terms of faunal diversity in the world. Its great diversity reflects the maturity of an ecosystem which has evolved over millions of years on the north-east continental shelf of Australia. The site contains a huge diversity of species including over 1,500 species of fish, about 360 species of hard coral, 5,000 species of mollusc, and more than 175 species of bird, plus a great diversity of sponges, anemones, marine worms and crustaceans, among others.
